Children's privacy (COPPA)

Overview for U.S. parents and schools. Not legal advice. Align your flows with COPPA and your counsel.

Who this is for

CircuitKids is built for young learners. If you are a parent, guardian, or school using the product with children under 13 in the United States, you should understand how verifiable parental consent and data minimization apply to your deployment.

What we collect from kids

Account and learning data may include a display name, email or school-provided identifier, progress, saved circuits, badges, and classroom relationships. We collect only what is reasonably needed to run the educational experience.

Parental rights

  • Review personal information we hold about the child
  • Request correction or deletion where applicable
  • Refuse further collection or use of the child's information

Use in-app privacy tools where enabled, or contact us with your request and enough detail to verify guardianship.

Schools

Schools contracting for educational use may act as an agent for consent in some circumstances ("school authorization"). Confirm your district's policies and FERPA/COPPA obligations with your legal team.
